About James

James Hamilton was born in Mackay, raised in Brisbane and studied at the University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba. For the next decade he worked in the Performing Arts as a journeyman of sorts, across Australia and New Zealand, wearing as many hats as he could find. Months before Paul Keating asked the country to vote on becoming a republic, and before the Millennium bug killed us all, he skipped town.

Twenty years on, and having lived and worked in dozens of countries, he stopped moving and now calls Liverpool home. Today, after building a career, filling his wall map with string spanning five continents and then watching the Arts industry left to die by governments everywhere, he set about creating two anti-heros to help escape.

Royce and Bruce were given life and together they represent the three decades of the author’s silent observations and frustrations. Still fictional, but with new ballsy actors, with vastly contrasting approaches. The right way versus the wrong way, the knee jerk versus the considered, force versus diplomacy – that kind of stuff.

But as with all heroes, unlike our author, filled with courage.
